Auckland Council
Recreational Services looks after gardens, parks, sports fields and facilities in the central-eastern and northern areas - keeping gardens blooming colourfully, lawns well tended and sports fields in peak condition.

We have carried out this work for many years, starting with the former North Shore City Council in 1993 and with the former Auckland City Council in 1996, and are now responsible for the maintenance and management of hundreds of parks, gardens, reserves and sports fields across Auckland.

Sports Park Maintenance
The all-round, day-to-day care of sports fields and cricket blocks including mowing, turf management and irrigation.
Renovations and Development
Carrying out regular renovations for sports fields and cricket blocks, plus upgrade construction projects for fields, cricket blocks, parks, gardens and civic areas.
Parks Management and Maintenance
Includes mowing, weed-eating, garden beds and facilities care plus field bookings.

Some Current Projects:
Rugby World Cup Training Venue - Onewa Domain #1
After completing an extensive upgrade of all three fields in this sports park, our sports field and horticulture teams are now devoting time to ensuring this prime venue is in tip-top condition in the lead up to the Rugby World Cup.
Rugby World Cup Beautification Project - Central-Eastern Area
The horticulture team have started on a year long project to upgrade high profile parks and gardens ahead of the expected tourist influx for the Rugby World Cup. Works include the installation of new park furniture and managing the gardens to ensure all are in peak flower for this big event.
Annuals Bedding in Takapuna & Devonport
We undertake the seasonal changeover of bedding gardens throughout Takapuna & Devonport, three times every year. This involves the planting and nurturing of approximately 12,000 annuals to create highly colourful displays for residents to enjoy.
